Like a Wrecking Ball


Having just finished a 7 day gamejam I did solo, I was excited to get right back into it! When  Gearless asked if I wanted to do another, we found the next jam that was starting (24 hours away) and immediately joined. After a quick ideation session he got to work on the gameplay and I started making the graphics.

This was my first time using the technique I used for art. Its called sprite stacking and its basically the same thing as voxels. It pairs nicely with pixel art skills, so if you're looking for a way to incorporate some 3D into your repertoire try SpriteStack. I did most of the art while Gear handled the programming and most of the audio.

Everything seemed to come together pretty quick. We were careful not to get dragged down any tangents that weren't core to the gameplay. With more time we could have done so much more, but that's the beauty of gamejams: they leave you with unused ideas! Thank you so much to the organizers of this jam and everyone who participated!
